Despite the uncertainty of a global pandemic and a contentious election season, we believe we have a lot to celebrate. And, we still have a lot of work to do. So, we are bringing our consumer law community together to honor our founders, celebrate our success of the last decade, and, perhaps most importantly, look to the next decade of consumer law and our duty as consumer law activists and attorneys.
In 2011, a small group of dedicated Washington State attorneys formed the Northwest Consumer Law Center (NWCLC). Their mission was to fill the justice gap in Washington’s civil justice system by providing low or no-cost legal services to families facing the financial devastation caused by the Great Recession.
David Leen and Sheila O’Sullivan are, two of those enterprising founders. After years of service, they both retired from our board this year, and we are marking the occasion with a party in their honor.
We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, December 9, as we gather to raise a toast of thanks to David and Sheila and honor their immense contribution— not just to NWCLC, but to the field of consumer law both locally and nationally.
