HAMP Expires December 31st
federally sponsored Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) is
expiring on 12/31/2016. This program was created in 2009 in response
to the alarming rate of home foreclosures during the recession.
Millions of American homeowners have applied for loan modifications
through HAMP in order to prevent foreclosure and maintain ownership
of their homes. “Facially complete” HAMP applications submitted prior
to the expiration date must be evaluated for a loan modification.
