We Will Stand Strong for Consumers

(with all due respect to John Steinbeck)

In Washington State, whenever residents are:
Harassed by Debt collectors, we’ll be there
Subject to illegal foreclosure, we’ll be there
Denied their rights as consumers, we’ll be there

Now, more than ever, we pledge to fulfill our mission to zealously advocate, litigate and promote access to justice for low- and moderate-income clients, and through our education programs, to empower consumers with the knowledge and resources to protect their rights.

HAMP Expires December 31st

The federally sponsored Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) is expiring on 12/31/2016. This program was created in 2009 in response to the alarming rate of home foreclosures during the recession. Millions of American homeowners have applied for loan modifications through HAMP in order to prevent foreclosure and maintain ownership of their homes. “Facially complete” HAMP applications submitted prior to the expiration date must be evaluated for a loan modification.

For applications submitted after 12/30/16, servicers may voluntarily offer their in-house modifications. The mortgage industry is looking into developing a uniform modification process to be used by all servicing companies.

If you know someone who might benefit from a HAMP loan modification have them call our intake line at (206) 805-1722 or suggest they find a HUD Certified Housing Counselor.

We've Moved

We are now doing business at 214 E. Galer St. in Seattle. Although we were sorry to bid the Ward House goodbye - lots of history there - we found these great new offices that are ADA accessible and provide us with more space for less cost. All other contact information remains the same.
